Course Objective
The Bachelor of Business Administration (Hospitality Management) is designed to further develop the industry knowledge and managerial techniques gained from a diverse range of students taking a business pathway from advanced diploma level studies at TAFE SA and other vocational educational providers.
You will learn to apply leading theories to real-world business situations, and demonstrate high-level proficiency in critical thinking, research, and the principles of social responsibility. Throughout the course you will build skills in team work and effective communication in a business management context.
The blended learning approach adopted in core units provides a variety of learning platforms and assessment strategies to engage students, stimulate critical thinking, hone decision-making skills, and fine-tune students’ oral and verbal communication abilities.

Course Length
The Bachelor of Business (Hospitality Management) as offered by the University of Tasmania consists of 24 units of study. A maximum of 12 units will be credited for candidates upon completion of TAFE SA Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management with details outlined below.
A) Students who complete the TAFE SA Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management will receive up to 12 Units of credit towards the University of Tasmania Bachelor of Business Administration (Hospitality Management) Degree.
B) Twelve (12) Units from TSBE (Tasmanian School of Business and Economics) are offered at Universal College of Higher Education over 3 semesters as listed below.

Credit for Previous Studies
Passes in subjects or units in other courses from the University of Tasmania or other approved tertiary institutions or professional examining bodies may be credited towards the degree to an extent of maximum of 12 units as approved by TSBE. A maximum of 12 units will be credited for candidates in completion of TAFE SA Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management.

Completion of TAFE SA Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management OR Completion of a Diploma or credit transfer from another college or university, which will be assessed individually by the University of Tasmania.

English Language Requirements
Completion of TAFE SA Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management OR English Language requirements are deemed to have been met if documentary evidence of English proficiency, equivalent to IELTS 6.0 overall with no band less than 5.5, achieved within the last two years of the application for admission to the Degree, is provided.

Attendances at lectures and tutorials are compulsory. Students are required to attend at least 80% attendance in each unit, penalties may apply if you fail to meet the attendance requirements.
