Course Objective
The course is designed to nurture well-educated and adaptable graduates, with appropriate professional skills to meet the existing needs and demands of business and related professions. The course specifically prepares students to work in such areas as business management, human resource management, international business, marketing, organizational management and tourism.
Course Structure
The Bachelor of Business as offered by The University of Tasmania consists of 24 units of study. A maximum of 12 units will be credited for candidates upon completion of Melbourne Polytechnic’s Advanced Diploma of Marketing with details outlined below.
A. Students who complete the Melbourne Polytechnic Advanced Diploma of Marketing will receive up to 12 Units of credit towards The University of Tasmania BBus Degree as listed below:

Credit for Previous Studies
Passes in subjects or units in other courses from The University of Tasmania or other approved tertiary institutions or professional examining bodies may be credited towards the degree to an extent of maximum of 12 units as approved by TSBE . A maximum of 12 units will be credited for candidates in completion of Melbourne Polytechnic’s Advanced Diploma of Marketing.
Admission Requirements
Completion of Melbourne Polytechnic Advanced Diploma of Marketing and Communication OR
Completion of a Diploma or credit transfer from another college or university, which will be assessed individually by The University of Tasmania
English Language Requirements
Completion of Melbourne Polytechnic Advanced Diploma of Marketing and Communication OR
English Language requirements are deemed to have been met if documentary evidence of English proficiency, equivalent to IELTS 6.0 overall with no band less than 5.5, achieved within the last two years of the application for admission to the Degree, is provided.
Attendance
Attendance at Lecturers and Tutorials is compulsory.
Students are required to attend at least 80% attendance in each unit, penalties may apply if you fail to meet the attendance requirements.
